Currency Rates for Today

August 20th, 2008   •   No Comments
  • Sterling slipped against the dollar on Wednesday as eyes turn to the Bank of England minutes meeting. A continued run of poor UK housing and retail data as well as BoE’s forecast that inflation will fall below target within 2 years, has raised expectations further that rates will be cut before the year is out.
  • The Bank of England minutes due at 0830 GMT are expected to show a three-way split, with seven members voting to leave rates on hold at 5.0 percent, one voting for a cut and one for a hike.
